Hearing During the hearing portion, committee members will focus their
attention on the Gaming Budgets (FY 2010-11) for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control
Board (PGCB), Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and Pennsylvania Department of
Revenue (DOR) and also be provided with a status update regarding the
implementation of table games. The committee will hear testimony from and have
an opportunity to question representatives of the PGCB, PSP and DOR on matters
that will ultimately help shape their respective gaming budgets and gaming
regulation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
PA Gaming Control Board:
- Gregory [Greg] C. Fajt, Chairman
- Kevin O'Toole, Executive Director
Pennsylvania State Police
- Captain Tim Allue, Director of Gaming Enforcement Office
- Scott Frederick, Director of Fiscal Division
PA Department of Revenue
- David Barasch, Executive Deputy Secretary
- Stacie Amsler, Fiscal Manager
Meeting
The meeting portion will involve the consideration of the
following legislation:
-
Senate Bill 831, Printer's No. 966 (Wozniak) amends
Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in
licensees, further providing for Category 2 slot machine license.
- [A07095] (Earll) Amendment Summary - This
amendment strikes the provisions in the legislation that would take away
one of the two Category 2 slot machine licenses provided for with regard
to a city of the first class (Philadelphia) and instead makes it
available to either a county of the fourth class or county of the sixth
class. It would instead amend section 1304(b) by taking one of the two
Philadelphia Category 2 slot machine licenses upon such being revoked by
the board (PGCB), prior to the commencement of operations, and open the
application process for said Category 2 slot machine license throughout
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including a city of the first
(Philadelphia), although a city of the second class (Pittsburgh) would
continue to be limited to the one Category 2 license
facility (previously issued and currently operating) and any existing
mileage limitations would also continue to apply. This amendment also
makes a corresponding modification to section 1307 (relating to the
number of slot machine licenses) to ensure the provisions of section
1304 and section 1307 do not conflict.
